Please note: Personalised Payment Links are a Liftshare community feature, and not currently available for members of the liftshare.com public network.
If you would like payment links enabled within your community, please reach out to your community administrator.
Personalised Payment Links simplify the process for passengers to contribute to Liftshare journeys after authenticating their shared trip with the driver. If this feature is enabled within your community then these links eliminate the need to log into online bank accounts or scramble for spare change. Once enabled, simply click the personalised payment link and send your contribution directly to your driver.
We support payment links from top providers like PayPal and Monzo. If your preferred payment link is not supported, you can let us know by reaching out to our support team with your suggestion.

Personalised Payment Links: How It Works
Once your personalised payment link is enabled, every time you authenticate, your passenger will have access to your personalised payment link. This will appear on their authentication success screen after scanning the driver's barcode.
Note: To ensure safety and prevent distractions, the driver won't have access to the passenger's payment link.
Upon clicking the driver's personalised payment link, the passenger will be redirected to the provider's payment page where they can contribute towards the journey's cost.
How to a Add Personalised Payment Link
Follow these steps to add a personalised payment link to your Liftshare account:

Navigate to your profile settings.

Look for the 'Personalised Payment Link' section.

Enter your preferred payment link in the provided field.

Enable or disable the visibility of your payment link using the toggle switch.

How to Use the Feature
For All Members: You add your personalised payment link under your account settings. This makes it easier to contribute your fair share to journeys each time you authenticate through the Liftshare companion app. If you prefer, you can choose to turn off your payment link to prevent it from appearing on your passenger's success screen.
For Drivers: After authenticating your journey, you don't need to do anything else. Your job is to safely transport your passengers. Your passengers will see your personalised payment link on their authentication success page within the Liftshare app so that they can contribute to their journey.
For Passengers: After successfully authenticating your journey, you will see a link to the driver's personalised payment link on the success screen of the Liftshare app. Clicking the link will open a new window where you can initiate your contribution payment.
Personalised Payment Link Providers
To ensure a smooth and hassle-free payment experience for members, we've partnered with select payment link providers. These providers allow you to generate personalised payment links that can be shared with anyone. Below is a detailed breakdown of each provider, their specific services, and any important notes for your reference.

Monzo (Monzo Me):
With Monzo Me, create personalised payment links accessible to anyone, whether they have a Monzo account or not. Payments can be made by entering a card number, expiry date, and CVV. Note: This service is exclusively available to UK residents holding a Monzo account. -
Starling Bank (Settle Up):
The Settle Up feature from Starling Bank lets account holders generate links for money requests or bill splitting. Payments can be processed by anyone, just by providing a card number, expiry date, and CVV. -
Revolut (Payments with Links):
Revolut's Payments with Links service allows the generation of payment links. Anyone can make payments using the links by entering their card details — no need for both parties to own a Revolut account. However, some transactions might come with fees. -
PayPal (PayPal.Me):
PayPal.Me by PayPal enables the creation of a unique link for receiving payments. Unlike the other services mentioned, for PayPal.Me both the sender and receiver need to have a PayPal account for the transfer to be initiated.

1. Problem: Can't add a Personalised Payment Link
- Solution: You might not be using a supported provider. Check our list of supported providers and ensure yours is on it.
2. Problem: Passenger can't see the Personalised Payment Link
- Solution: The link visibility might be disabled in your settings. Go to your profile settings and make sure the visibility of your payment link is enabled.
3. Problem: Payment link is incorrect or broken
- Solution: The link might have been incorrectly entered in your profile settings. Double-check your Personalised Payment Link, correct if necessary and save changes.
4. Problem: Unable to authenticate journey
- Solution: There might be a temporary system glitch. Try again after a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact our support team.
5. Problem: Preferred payment link provider not supported
- Solution: Your preferred provider might not be on our approved list. Reach out to our support team with your suggestion. We're always looking to expand our list of approved providers.
