      If you’re taking a lift, you may want to check the details of the driver’s car. Ask to see the driver’s insurance documentation before you share. You can also ask your driver for the number plate and make, and then check its MOT and tax status on the Government’s website here: https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/
